Best Poster Abstract Awards at IPHOUM 2018
Awards will be presented for the three Best Poster Abstracts submitted for the Conference.
The Award winners will be invited to give short oral presentations on the first day of the IPHOUM 2018 Conference, as well as presenting a poster.
For IPHOUM 2018 awards of £300, £200 and £100 will be given to the 3 Best Poster Abstracts according to their top 3 ranking as deemed by the Programme Committee. Each award will be presented to the first author of the abstract, who should present the paper at the Conference. The abstract may be presented at the Conference by another from the same department with prior permission of the IPHOUM 2018 Programme Committee.
All abstracts submitted for IPHOUM 2018 will be considered for these Awards.
Travel Bursaries to attend IPHOUM 2018
A number of travel bursaries to attend IPHOUM 2018 are available on application. These generous bursaries include complimentary registration and a travel grant towards the recipient’s travel costs.
** Applications will only be accepted from those who have had abstracts accepted for the IPHOUM 2018 Conference **
How to proceed to apply for a bursary
- Submit an abstract for poster presentation at IPHOUM 2018 via the Call for Abstracts available here
- Once registration booking is open, the bursary applicant should register on-line without paying.
- Look out for the abstract review result correspondence, which will be distributed at the end of June 2018 at the latest.
- Apply for bursary by 1st July 2018
- Bursary application results will be distributed by the end of July 2018 at the latest.
- Applicants must have confirmed access to the UK 45 days prior to the Conference, including an approved visa application if required. If a visa application is refused, IPHOEF reserves the right to reallocate the bursary.
The Application:
Applicants must apply by E-Mail before 1st July 2018 to be considered.
The application must include the following:
- A letter of application
- A copy of the accepted abstract
- A short CV including a list of publications
- A copy of the applicant’s passport, which must have at least 6 months before expiry

IPHOUM 2018 Young Investigator Awards
Young Investigator Awards are available to IPHOUM delegates paying a Full Early Registration Fee (not a Day Delegate Fee) who are authors of accepted poster abstracts, who are not consultants or equivalent.
The Young Investigator Awards are to encourage young qualified researchers from all specialities to submit research and case histories which relate to IPHOUM.
The award is a 50% reduction in the Registration Fee.
How to apply:
ALL APPLICATIONS FOR YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF ABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND BY 9th JUly 2018
The Application should include:
- A letter of application
- A short CV including a list of publications
- The abstract submission as set out in the Call for Abstracts

IPHOEF Independent Travel Bursaries
IPHOEF is pleased to offer support to applicants to attend international conferences, workshops, symposia, courses or placements, at the discretion of the Travel Bursary Review Panel. Travel bursaries can be used for events in the UK and overseas.
IPHOEF requires that in return for an IPHOEF Independent Travel Bursary, the recipient gives a very short presentation about their attendance for which the bursary was used, at the next IPHOUM event.
Deadline: Applications can be submitted at any time but please consider the need for sufficient time for the application to be received and considered, to conclude the travel and attendance and then to prepare a presentation for the next IPHOUM event. We recommend at least 30 days should be allowed for the application process.
Each application will be considered on its own merit.
Terms and conditions:
- Applications are invited from clinicians and PAMS in academic positions or training or tenured employment.
- Applications to be made by E-Mail to iphoum@indexcommunications.com
- Applications must include: Budget of the travel requirements, objective of the attendance/visit, expected outcomes, letter of invitation from event to be attended.
- There is no age limit for applicants.
- Bursaries will be paid retrospectively.
